Before the individual ingredients are transformed into our beloved Jägermeister, the raw materials are put to an in-house taste test and subject to a sensory test.
In addition to quality control in the laboratory, a small group of specially trained staff with a particularly acute sense of taste puts various ingredients through a taste test. This above all includes the Jägermeister base material. Sugar and pure alcohol, required in the production of Jägermeister, are also tasted. The pure alcohol is tasted after being strongly diluted with water, and will of course not completely consumed. All the other Jägermeister components are of course also tasted, and finally a sample from a freshly filled bottle.
To play it safe during the quality inspection, the test results are checked once again by an extended round of secondary testers. Our entire staff is eligible to apply as a second taste tester. In several selection rounds, the most sensitive tasters among them are determined and invited to participate in the tasting process.
