New Orleans: The home of Jazz. And also exactly the city where the American success story of Jägermeister began. But how did this happen?
It all started in the mid 1980s in the historical amusement district - the French Quarter - of New Orleans. In the legendary Jazz bar “Fritzel’s”, bar owners from the strip came together for a night cap at dawn. The owner of Fritzel’s, who originally came from Germany, Gunter ("Dutch") Seutter, poured an ice cold round of Jägermeister, a drink that was not yet known in the United States. The result: His guests loved it and ordered the aromatic drink for their own bars straight from Germany. This was the start of the Jägermeister success-story.
